I obtained my PhD in 2000 at KU Leuven (Belgium), and after a brief stay at the Shriners Hospital (Montreal, Canada), I returned to KU Leuven. Initially, my research focused on the anti-proliferative effects of vitamin D, but more recently, I have been investigating the influence of vitamin D on calcium and bone homeostasis.
