Justine Bacchetta (MD 2009, PhD 2011) is Professor of Pediatrics, Head of the Pediatric Nephrology Unit, Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics in Lyon, and chair of the international relation commission of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, France. She is specialized in pediatric nephrology and diseases of calcium and phosphate metabolism. After a research fellowship at UCLA, she has developed a research program focused on CKD-MBD and bone disease in rare inherited renal diseases (cystinosis, hyperoxaluria, XLH and vitamin D-associated lithiasis). She has been an ESPN council member and the chair of the ESPN CKD-MBD-WG and of the ERKNet CKD/dialysis WG, and she is currently the Treasurer of the French Society of Pediatric Nephrology and an IPNA councilor in charge of international fellowships. She has published more than 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals, given more than 150 invited lectures, and received the 2016 IPNA Renee Habib award.
