The Institut de recherche contre les cancers de l’Appareil digestif (IRCAD), based in Strasbourg, France, was founded in 1994 by Professor Jacques Marescaux with the mission of creating a unique research and training institute dedicated to minimally invasive surgery IRCAD+1. Its purpose is to combine scientific research with advanced surgical education to advance the field of surgery globally.
