I am currently Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. I am a Pulmonologist and Epidemiologist and my research focuses on developmental origins of asthma and allergies. I was PI of the multicenter clinical trial of vitamin D supplementation in pregnant women to prevent asthma and allergies in children (VDAART – Vitamin D Antenatal Asthma Reduction Trial), and continue to study the effects of vitamin D and the microbiome on early life lung disease.
